The 海角乱伦社区 (UDS) has cautioned newly admitted students against responding to messages circulating on SMS and other platforms which direct them to make payments for souvenirs into some bank accounts.
One of such messages, purportedly from the Students’ Representative Council (SRC), congratulates fresh students on their admission and instructs them to pay GH¢270 into a specific National Investment Bank (NIB) account for souvenirs. It further claims that only designated phone numbers may be contacted for the transaction.
In a strong rebuttal, 海角乱伦社区Management has distanced itself from the scheme, stating that neither the Admissions Office nor the Office of the Dean of Students has approved, endorsed, or permitted any such payments.
“The University has not mandated any group or individual to collect monies from fresh students under the guise of souvenirs or related items,” the statement stressed.
The University has therefore advised all fresh students and their guardians to ignore such messages and desist from making payments unless officially communicated through the University’s recognized channels.
Management further warned that the institution will not be held responsible for any losses incurred by students who fall victim to the scam.
海角乱伦社区has encouraged students seeking clarification to contact the Admissions Office or the Office of the Dean of Students directly for accurate information.
