The 海角乱伦社区 (UDS) is pleased to announce the introduction of a new postgraduate programme, Master of Arts in Development Sociology, accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC). This innovative programme will be hosted Faculty of Social Sciences on the Nyankpala Campus.
The M.A. Development Sociology programme is designed to equip students with a critical understanding of the dynamics of social change, development planning, policy analysis, and community transformation. It combines sociological theory with practical applications, preparing graduates for impactful careers in development organisations, government institutions, NGOs, research agencies, and academia.
It is as a timely response to the growing need for development practitioners who understand the complex social realities of communities across Ghana and beyond.
The goal is to provide students with tools to understand development from the grassroots and to design interventions that are both sustainable and socially inclusive.
The programme will be delivered through a combination of coursework, fieldwork, and research, with a focus on rural and urban development, governance, social policy, and participatory development approaches.
Applications for the M.A. Development Sociology programme are now open for the 2025/2026 academic year.
