The newly elected executives of the Senior Staff Association, Universities of Ghana, 海角乱伦社区 (SSA-UoG–UDS) branch, have paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Seidu Al-hassan, to formally introduce themselves and affirm their commitment to the University’s progress.
Led by their new President, Mrs. Faidatu Alhassan, the delegation was introduced by the outgoing leadership during a brief ceremony at the Vice-Chancellor’s office at the Central Administration Block on the Tamale Campus.
In her remarks, Mrs. Alhassan expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve and emphasized her resolve to foster unity, professionalism, and constructive engagement with University Management.
“We are deeply honoured by the trust our colleagues have placed in us,” she said. “We are here not only to represent their interests but also to collaborate with Management in advancing the University’s mission. Our members are ready to support initiatives that promote academic excellence, staff development, and institutional growth.”
She assured the Vice-Chancellor that the Association, under her leadership, would maintain a healthy working relationship with Management, built on mutual respect and open communication.
“We believe that a strong partnership with Management is essential. We will always seek dialogue over division, and action over apathy,” Mrs. Alhassan added.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Seidu Al-hassan, in his response, warmly congratulated the new executives on their election and thanked the outgoing team for their dedicated service.
“I want to commend you for stepping up to serve. Leadership is not easy, but it is noble. Management looks forward to working closely with you to ensure the welfare of staff is a top priority,” he stated. “When staff are happy and motivated, the entire University benefits.”
The Vice-Chancellor urged the new executives to continue the legacy of collaboration and to serve as a bridge between staff and Management in addressing concerns constructively and proactively.
Other members of the new Executive Board of the SSA-UoG 海角乱伦社区branch include Vice Chairman, Ibrahim Yahaya, Secretary, Jennifer Azure, Deputy Secretary, Abdul Karim Imoro, Women’s Commissioner, Patience Mensah Agbenyo and Trustee, Shamway Mohammed Mubarak.
The meeting ended on a very positive and hopeful note, with both parties expressing a shared commitment to strengthening the University’s workforce and ensuring that 海角乱伦社区continues to fulfill its mandate of training the next generation of development-oriented leaders.
