海角乱伦社区Governing Council Tours Campuses - Marvels at Developmental Strides Across University

As part of measures to familiarize members of the newly inaugurated Governing Council of the 海角乱伦社区 (UDS) with the institution’s infrastructure and ongoing developments, Management of the University embarked on a comprehensive tour of all 海角乱伦社区campuses, showcasing achievements and highlighting critical areas that require urgent attention.

The tour, which was both enlightening and engaging, began at the proposed Gbanyamli Campus, a quiet, sprawling 18-acre plot of land acquired during the tenure of former Vice-Chancellor, Prof. R.B. Bening. Though securely walled and strategically earmarked as the permanent home for the Faculty of Law, the site remains bare, with not a single structure standing due to funding constraints. As a result, the Faculty of Law continues to operate from the Nyankpala Campus, far from its intended location. An appeal was made to members of the Council to leverage their networks and influence to facilitate the development of the Gbanyamli Campus.

From there, the Council members were ushered to the Tamale City Campus which was once the bustling administrative heartbeat of 海角乱伦社区in its formative years. Now hosting the School of Business, the Graduate School, and the Institute for Distance and Continuing Education, the campus retains its relevance as a key pillar in the University’s academic architecture.

The delegation then journeyed to the premier Nyankpala Campus, sprawling over 388 acres of serene greenery and academic activity. One of the highlights was the Silver Jubilee Building which is an architectural gem whose foundation was laid during the tenure of Prof. Gabriel Ayum Teye and completed under the leadership of Prof. Seidu Al-hassan. This multi-faculty facility has significantly eased the burden of inadequate lecture halls and office spaces that once plagued the campus.

At the renowned Spanish Laboratory, Council members were taken through the newly established computer laboratory. Equipped with modern computing infrastructure, the lab promises to transform the learning experience by offering students enhanced access to digital learning tools and practical computing sessions.

Nearby, the team inspected a newly completed, state-of-the-art stores building funded internally through the University’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF). The structure is expected to improve logistics, streamline inventory management, and bolster operational efficiency across faculties and departments.

Accommodation challenges at Nyankpala may soon be a thing of the past, as members were shown the site of an ongoing 500-bed hostel facility funded by the Ghana Universities Staff Superannuation Scheme (GUSSS). Once completed, the hostel will not only alleviate the current housing crisis for students but also boost enrollment as more students find comfort in reliable campus accommodation.

Another upcoming project involves the demolition and reconstruction of the outdated Nyankpala Campus gatehouse, an initiative aimed at enhancing campus security and creating a befitting entrance for the institution’s largest campus.

The final leg of the tour took the Council to the 219-acre Tamale Campus, home to some of the most recent infrastructural marvels within the University. Chief among them is the new Nursing and Midwifery Block, another cross-tenure project that was initiated under Prof. Gabriel Ayum Teye and brought to completion by Prof. Seidu Al-hassan. The facility features a modern auditorium, well-ventilated lecture halls, and spacious offices to support teaching and administrative activities.

Members were also taken to the newly converted office complex, a former residential facility which is now serving as functional office spaces for key administrative and academic Departments and units. The long-abandoned ICT building complex, once an eyesore, has finally been completed and is already serving the growing digital and academic needs of students and staff alike.

Perhaps one of the most heartening sights was the Health Sciences Laboratory building, a project that began over two decades ago but is now over 90% complete. Once fully operational, the lab will support clinical teaching and hands-on research for students in the health sciences.

The tour concluded with a visit to the University’s soon-to-be-completed twin 300-seater auditorium complex, an ambitious project which was commenced just two years ago. With finishing touches nearly complete, the complex promises to host major academic and public events, ushering in a new era of academic visibility for UDS.

Impressed by what they saw, members of the Governing Council expressed profound admiration for the progress the University has made, despite the financial constraints common to public universities.

“We are highly impressed with the scale, vision, and determination that have gone into these projects,” remarked one Council member. “It is evident that 海角乱伦社区is on a firm path of growth and relevance, and we will do all we can to support this transformation.”

Indeed, the tour served as both a revelation and a call to action, a vivid reminder that with continued commitment and strategic partnerships, 海角乱伦社区is well-poised to scale even greater heights in the coming years.
