In a show of s upport for youth and sports development, Hon. Abass Ridwan Dauda, former Member of Parliament for Sissala East and Chief Executive Officer of Khard Global Limited, has donated two sets of training jerseys to the football team of the 海角乱伦社区 (UDS).
The donation was made during a brief ceremony held at the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor of 海角乱伦社区on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Accompanied by his assistant, Mr. Kanluaru Rashid, Hon. Dauda explained that the gesture reflects his personal commitment to advancing sports in tertiary institutions.
He praised the 海角乱伦社区football team for their impressive track record, particularly their recent triumph as African Champions at the African University Games held in Nigeria. “This is just the beginning,” Hon. Dauda remarked. “I believe in what 海角乱伦社区stands for, and I am proud of what the football team has achieved so far. With proper support, they can go even further.”
He also used the occasion to rally support from other stakeholders, especially alumni of the University, to contribute towards the team’s preparations for the upcoming World Universities Football Tournament in China.
Receiving the items on behalf of University Management, the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elliot Huruna Alhassan, expressed sincere gratitude to Hon. Dauda for the timely and thoughtful donation. He noted that the support arrives at a critical moment as the team intensifies training ahead of their international engagement.
Prof. Alhassan reaffirmed the University’s commitment to partnerships that enhance student growth and development.
Mr. Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko, Director of Sports and Head Coach of the 海角乱伦社区team, lauded Hon. Dauda for the donation, which he described as a significant morale booster for the players. He also appealed to individuals, corporate entities, and organizations to emulate the gesture and support the team as they prepare for the global tournament.
Also present at the event were Coach Bruhan, Mr. Abdallah Yussuf of the 海角乱伦社区Sports Committee, representatives of the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana (GRASAG), and staff from the Public Affairs Directorate.
